Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this study, you must:

• Be living in the United Kingdom and aged 6 months to 70 years old
• Be Islet autoantibody positive to insulin/GAD/IA2/ZnT8/TSPN7, confirmed in a laboratory *
• Be willing and able to give informed consent to participate in the study if you are 16 years or older, OR provide parental consent for your child (with the child’s assent where appropriate)
• Not be on ongoing insulin (injections or a pump)

* How do I know if I am islet antibody positive or if I need a re-test?

• If you have been tested as part of a UK research screening programme, and your antibody status was confirmed within the last 12 months, then you do not need a confirmatory blood test
• If your antibody status was confirmed from a routine NHS blood test OR from the ADDRESS-2 study, then you will need to do a re-test
• If your antibody status was confirmed from a research screening programme and your antibody positive status was confirmed more than 12 months ago, then you will be offered a re-test.
